Cheese
Dice the cheese in cubes of 1cm³ and attach to hair.
On this picture you see young cheese, but there are many more... Let your imagination run wild. As long as you can keep the chees on the hair you can fish it.
Spam
Also diced in cubes. I usually let them soak, a day before i go fishing, in garlic- or chilli oil. The oil rises to the surface and takes the scent and flavor with it making it super atractive.
Bread
A forgotten carpbait...
Take a loaf of bread and tear off a piece of bread the size of your thumb. Take one end between indexfinger and thumb. Take your hook and place it beside the bread. Now gently squeeze your thumb and indexfinger together. This way of offering your bait is perfect for fishing in the shallows.
In the past, people made a dough from bread and cheese. You take two parts from the inside of the bread and one part cheese (young preferably). Knead them well together, this can take a while... Afterwards you put the dough in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer. The night before you go fishing you can take out the bag and the dough will be ready the next day. Dough can be kneaded around the hook like a piece of bread or you can buy a little round feeding basket that can be mounted on the hair, afterwards you can fill them with dough.
